Step by step

  1. Choose how to buy. Browse our Stock Cars (already purchased, ready to ship) or open a deposit account to bid on live Japanese auctions.
  2. Read the auction sheet. Every auction car has an independent inspection sheet with a grade, interior score and damage notes. Our Auction Guide explains how to read it.
  3. Bid and win. We place your bid at the auction and tell you the result straight away. Pay the invoice by bank transfer.
  4. Export and shipping. We handle the export paperwork and ship the car (RO-RO) to the European port you choose.
  5. Customs, VAT and registration. On arrival you clear customs, pay duty and VAT, complete any inspection or approval your country requires, and register the car.

Frequently asked questions

Is it cheaper to import a car from Japan?
Often, yes, especially for low-mileage and rare models, but you must add shipping, 10% customs duty, VAT and any national registration or approval costs. Compare the total landed cost, not just the auction price.
Which cars can be registered in Europe?
Most cars imported from Japan can, but they usually need individual approval and an inspection. Right-hand-drive cars may have extra restrictions depending on the country.
How long does the import take?
Allow roughly two to three months from winning the auction to having the car on the road, depending on shipping schedules and local registration time.
